We watched a dark little movie last night — Wristcutters: A Love Story — and I didn't think it hit me hard, but I ended up getting only four hours of sleep. Up late tossing and turning, thinking about friends I'll never see again because they've passed away. The gist of the flick was simple: all suicides are relegated to a bleached-out purgatory that more or less resembles the world we live in, only a bit worse. Fascinating idea, but it brought back one of my worst fears, which is: what if the afterlife is just as banal as the living state, only it goes on forever?

What scares **you** more - hell, non-existence, or eternal boredom? Would knowing what fuels the eternal engine of the universe slake man's thirst for meaning, or would it just lead to more questions and more fruitless, destructive searching?
